[lxc-users] Error downloading image on a fresh install of latest stable LXC on a Trusty host

I'm trying to follow the "Getting Started" guide, and the creation of my
first image fails due to inability to download a necessary file from
linuxcontainers.org.

This issue occurs on a fully up-to-date Trusty host, running both the
default release from the Ubuntu repositories (1.0.8), as well as the latest
stable from the PPA (1.1.5). It happens when I try to download the default
image recommended by the guide (Ubuntu Trusty i386), as well as other
images (such as CentOS 6 i386/amd64).

I'm not sure how to proceed at this point, and trying to wget/curl/browse
directly the URL mentioned in the error message below returns 403 Forbidden.

Full error message follows:

$ lxc-create -t download -n my-container
Setting up the GPG keyring
Downloading the image index
